"Titus at His Desk," Rembrandt van Rijn, 1655.
Who doesn't know Rembrandt
This is a portrait of his one surviving son by his first wife, Saskia van Uylenburgh. (Three other children died within weeks of their birth.) Saskia herself died of tuberculosis a year after Titus' birth, and her illness and death affected him greatly, as we can see from his paintings of her on her deathbed. There is a tender sort of anxiety in his depictions of Titus, who he painted frequently, as if fearful that he could leave any day.
Titus van Rijn (1641-1668) was by all accounts an intelligent and willful child who adored his father and did everything he could to help him, especially when Rembrandt's financial problems led to a bankruptcy. When Titus got older, he and Rembrandt's mistress Hendrickje set up a corporation as art dealers to generate work and support for his father.
Titus married in 1668 to Magdalena van Loo, but died a few months later of unstated causes. His daughter Titia was born six months after his passing. Rembrandt himself passed on the following year.

Its a bit that time of year when we look back on the past year #2025 including what happened here on Pixelfed.In 2025, I hardly did any photoshoots, except for one with Helen,
a constant value ! And value is really an understatement.
Its great to work with a and feel a kind of friendship !
So this year as well, I shared a few photos from our shoot here.

But there was another frustration My first shoot with her in 22, I think, produced many beautiful analog photos, but part of them were badly scanned by my lab. As a result, I struggled enormously with raster patterns during editing (I hate that). Recently, I decided to run them through an AI program to see what it could do, and this is the result.

On top of that, its filtered through American prudish thinking, so a photo with a bare nipple simply wont get processed. Just imagine what a naked nipple could apparently unleash upon our world, of course!

Years ago I made this painting. And I still like it. Many times I take old paintings and improve them, but this one has not changed since it was done (first time).This was my pallet that I turned into a face/portrait. I get really happy about all the colors in this painting.
It was mainly made with crayons followed by oil paint. I like how loose it came out, but still kept a lot of expression.
