This was a fun one that I did about two years ago for a Star Wars fan up in New York state. His dog is named Vader and he asked for a painting of his dog dressed up as Darth Vader, but beyond that, he wasnt too specific. So I designed this one and painted it and here is how it came out. He was really happy with it! I can do this type of thing for you too, msg me if interested!

I shot this portrait during a session of our Photo Club in Draveil, France.

This is the first time I spend more than an hour in Lightroom and Photoshop for a portrait, and I really like the result, it was worth it.

Jon was an actor, writer and all-around great guy I met at the 500 Club in the Mission in 1991. He offered me unlimited use of his loft on Clara Street for shoots, and that's where we made this picture in 1992.

Jon would be 60 today, his birthday. RIP.

This one was a challenge for me! I'll admit I've never done a split portrait before - and certainly not a split time period portrait. It was fun though! Thank you Lankie for giving me the opportunity to try something new! <3

My niece in a 1950s setting. Her smile is so charming. The photo was taken with an old twin-lens reflex camera, a Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex from 1952.
Gear:
Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex Ia (854/16) (Germany, 1952)
Novar-Anastigmat 75 mm f/3.5
Ilford HP5 Plus 400
This photo was taken by my lovely wife. The next photo from the same session has been published here: and was captured using the old camera you see in the picture.
I really enjoy taking photos with this camera because you can only take 12 shots, and you look through the viewfinder downwards, not forwards.
