Hey everyone, I'm a portrait artist that could really use some work! Here is a painting that was made for a family in Denmark about a year and a half ago, it is done with oil paint on canvas. I'm working on a commissioned portrait today of a woman and her favorite hen. Save for my two cat painting commissions, all my art this year has been completely fictional: made up people and made up chickens. For this piece, though, I feel the need to be more mindful in my approach to the piece to bring out her strength and beauty and to capture that special bond between woman and hen.

I usually keep to the original sketches, but sometimes I do a complete redesign on the spot. Its the drawing artist's equivalent of "fuck it, will will fix it on post".
